Ark Stacker
Multi-Purpose Toy is Flooded With Play Possibilities

Tier Toys Launches Stackers' Puzzle, Sorter & Storage Case Product Line

Children familiar with the story of Noah's Ark can name many of the animals that endured 40 days and 40 nights of flooding.  There are giraffes, lions, elephants, monkeys and bears.  But what youngster would shout out, kangaroo?  Aussie kids, that's who!  The Australian makers of a new line of toys known as Stackers has created an ingenious stack and play product line that kicks off with the debut of Noah's Ark with, naturally, two kangaroos!

"Tier Toys was established after nine years of research and development," explains Director Leah Romyn from her Australian office.  "resulting in an extremely robust USA and Australian patent for an educational puzzle toy.  The toy can be configured in any number of different products.  This unique concept has rejuvenated the construction toy arena."

Children opening the box for Stackers' Noah's Ark will be astonished with the intricacies of 12 different stackable layers of toy pieces.  Each level uncovers two or more animals ready to walk down the plank for a play date.  A total of 44 detailed figures in primary colors of red, blue, yellow and green includes Noah and his wife.

A click on their website, http://www.tiertoys.com, shows a video of the Ark and how its pieces easily pull apart and are stacked back together.  Moms will especially adore one of the added benefits -- as the child completes the playing with the Ark by putting all of the animals in their spots, he stacks up the Ark and cleans up his own clutter!

Respected toy consultant Richard Gottlieb echoes excitement for Stackers, stating "the patent is truly amazing in what it covers and in the unique variety of products it will allow Tier Toys to produce.  This is a product that has the potential to be a global success."

Just like Noah's Ark, two of every sort of animal is tucked inside 12 layers of stackable play pieces that create a wondrous ark.  A total of 44 detailed figures, including Noah and his wife, are packed in their own spot among the stacks.  A free download of the story of Noah's Ark allows children to relive the Biblical tale, plus enjoy six fun games and educational activities. Children ages three years and older can play safely with the toy; ages six or sevens years should be able to play successfully on their own.

Toy Tested by Tobias, age 7 years

When I introduced the Noah's Ark Stacker to our seven-year-old grandson Tobias he was instantly intrigued. Tobias abandoned the model ship he was building, and put aside the controllers for the PS3.  I had planned on suggesting it would be a nice play set to supervise play along with his younger brother Dayton.  He could help Dayton learn his colors, counting, and the names of all of the animals.

With grandparents who write about toys and playthings, Tobias has exposure to some very sophisticated toys from video games, electric train sets, science kits, and more to stimulate his brain and creativity. As a seven year old I wasn't expecting that Noah's Ark would hold Tobias' interest.  This was a definite wrong assumption on my part.

Tobias attends Sunday School each week and I asked him if he knew the story of Noah and the Ark.  He couldn't quite recall the entire story so we consulted his Children's Illustrated Bible.  While I read the story of the great flood Tobias explored the animals, level by level.  He was interested in each of the animals and how some were similar or different from one another. With the tale of Noah fresh in his mind Tobias easily acted out the story, marching each animal to its proper place.  Some of the shapes he needed to fiddle with to get them to fit properly, not surprising as his report card mentioned he needed to work on his small motor ability.  Another plus for the Ark, as fitting 44 figures safely away will provide plenty of practice.  He used both logic and number sequence (each tier is numbered) to fit the layers together properly, then with a chuckle popped the pair of giraffes into their special where they stand head above the ark, peaking out at the oncoming rain. And in the end Grandma didn't have to remind him to tidy his toys because when he finished playing the pieces were already put away.  When finished playing with the toy he returned to his illustrated Bible to discover more stories from the book.

When it was time for Tobias to head home for the day I asked if he would like to bring the Ark home to share with Dayton.  He said he would rather keep it on the dresser his bedroom at our home.  I am sure Tobias gives the Tier Toys Stackable Noah's Ark two thumbs up.  I am sure it will be a popular back yard toy this summer.
