In 1939 a storybook about a little French girl
captivated boys and girls with an illustrated tale of spunk, determination and
compassion. In 2009 American children will be heard saying merci beaucoup as
they wrap their arms around a soft version of that precocious Parisian redhead,
Madeline, the newest literary license awarded to Kids Preferred.
Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Madeline with
Kids Preferred, one of the leading U.S. plush manufacturers, who will showcase 7

soft and hardcover books. Kids Preferred has developed three plush models of Madeline
plus her dog, Genevieve. The spunky literary character, beloved for seven

As any little girl can recite from the pages of
Ludwig Bemelmans’ classic tale, Miss Clavel oversees the education of 12 little
girls, the littlest of whom is the mischievous Madeline. Madeline's daily
adventures in late 1930s France show her with her friends in a Paris boarding
school breaking bread, brushing their teeth, going for a walk in two straight
lines and then, somehow, falling into a wild adventure. Each storybook shows
Madeline's bravery and kindness, especially in the face of adversity.
Kids Preferred has designed a 70th Anniversary

April, 2009.

famous Parisian locales from the original book. Madeline’s beautiful red hair is
