Purse Pals - Toys and Collectibles Wish List - Universal Knowledge Factory

Purse Pals are 3-D pets that live in small interactive purses. Each purse opens to reveal a playhouse with four different environments. When a pet is placed in special spots within its purse, electronic sensors recognize the pet and monitor its visits to the "Play", "Grooming", "Feeding" and "Going Out" areas. Icons displayed on the purse's LCD screen measure the pet's happiness and contentment.

When other pets come to visit, the purse launches into Party Mode with special songs and flashing, festive screen animation. This encourages social interaction as the purse tracks which pals have come over and displays their faces on the pet's buddy list. There are six species of pets available, each with its own custom purse.

Purse Pals were designed for girls as young as age five who have not yet developed the cognitive skills to support more complex interactive pets that exist entirely on screen. Girls who do grasp the screen-only experience enjoy having a tangible doll-version of their electronic pet. The pet may need a boost to its Play Meter or an increase in Heart Points, but it will never die or demand constant attention.

Girls learn important cause-and-effect relationships while playing with Purse Pals, as feeding their pet results in the pet's need to be let out, which can cause the pet to get dirty and require a bath. Because being groomed isn't much fun, the animal will want to play after its bath. Using screen prompts, their are interactive games that girls and pets can play together, including hide-and-seek. When a pet needs a rest, it is stored in its purse for safekeeping.
